Breakfast Meeting 8.30 until 10.30 and launch of the iNet Workshop 10.30 - 13.30
Come and join us over breakfast and lunch at our next Quarterly event which will also include the launch of the iNet in the form of a workshop. The event will be held at the Derby Conference Centre, Derby.
Our guest speakers for the Quarterly Breakfast meeting will be Gary Plant from Plan Assure Limited and John O’Reilly from EMDA. The iNet workshop speakers will be Michelle Craven from Nelsons Solicitors, David Pickering, George Tansley and Grahame Mansell Grace from the iNet and EMDA and Cliff Perry as the DDRF iNet representative.
Quarterly Meeting
Supplier Assurance in the UK Railways – An overview of the various schemes, processes and options plus a look at the future.
There is currently a seemingly confusing array of assurance and approval arrangements in the UK Rail sector. Gary Plant’s presentation will attempt to explain the main ones, what they are attempting to do and how to make the best of them. There will be an explanation of RSSB’s current work to review and improve the current arrangements and plenty of time for questions and answers.
Business Support in the East Midlands.
There has been a need to simplify publicly funded business support in the region and to make it more accessible to businesses. John O’Reilly will outline the key objectives of the new Business Support Strategy launched recently by emda. It will also summarise the services and support available to businesses, and noting how these align with the Government's recently announced portfolio of 'Solutions for Business'. A Question and Answer session will follow.
iNet Launch Workshop
Following on from our Quarterly breakfast meeting is the launch of the iNet.
Our guest speakers for this workshop will be Michelle Craven from Nelsons Solicitors, David Pickering and George Tansley from the iNet and EMDA and Cliff Perry the DDRF iNet representative. Each speaker will give a brief ten minute presentation before the table sessions commence. The proposed timings for the workshop are as follows.
10.30 – 10.40 Managing Innovation Cliff Perry
10.40 – 10.50 Company Innovation SWOT David Pickering
10.50 - 11.00 IPR Michelle Craven
11.00 – 11.10 Outputs Tony King & George Tansley. Grahame Mansell Grace FP7 Service European funding.
A “Meet the Experts” session will then follow. Each delegate will be asked in advance which 2 tables they wish to visit. Each table session will last 40 minutes. Details of each table can be found by clicking here.
Members need to choose 2 tables out of the 4 to visit. This will be on a first come first served basis. When booking on to this event please inform Debbie Cook of your first, second, third and fourth choice of tables.
