Derby & Derbyshire Rail Forum

Derby & Derbyshire Rail Forum is at the heart of the rail industry.

DDRF represents the largest cluster of rail companies in the world. Formed in 1993 to promote the area as a world class centre of rail excellence, DDRF has successfully maintained the area’s international reputation of excellence in rail engineering, design, manufacture and consultancy.

The diversity of approach that DDRF provides is second to none, involving inward and outward trade missions, establishing successful networking opportunities, attending trade exhibitions, facilitating topical workshops and seminars, assisting the preparation and development of tenders and most importantly, providing a collective voice for the area in promoting the area’s rail industry to a global market.

DDRF has dedicated local support from the City and County Councils, the East Midlands Development Agency, UK Trade & Investment and other industry groups.

This support helps DDRF members locate and access new markets and promote international expansion. It also helps bring new organisations to the region, to continue the growth and reputation of the regions rail industry.

Membership to DDRF is not restricted to technology and manufacturing companies. Finance, legal and other support organisations are also members. The main criteria DDRF insists on to be a member is a minimum of 10% of the company turnover is rail related.

DDRF is at the forefront of global best practice, helping to support vital projects in the UK and overseas.
